Dear Worthy Knights,
DIVISION OF EAST ANGLIA – INTENDANT-GENERAL
I am very sorry to have to advise you that due to personal, unforeseen, circumstances P.Kt. Perry Balls is not able to proceed with his planned installation as Intendant-General at our Divisional meeting on the 12th July 2025. I will therefore continue in the office of Intendant-General of our very special Division for another year. Please attend our Divisional meeting to support all of the Divisional officer appointments and promotions and show to all of our visiting Wy.Kts. the strength and happiness of the Division of East Anglia.
I look forward to being with you all and supporting your conclaves to the best of my ability. I am sure that you will appreciate that I will need to make a number of diary changes in the coming months.
God Bless.
Yours in Faith, Unity and Zeal – John
Easter Message
From our Independant General
Dear Worthy Knights,
Easter Greetings
My meetings, and communications, with you seem to be many “lasts” at the moment, and this is no exception as I send you my last Easter message as your Intendant-General.
I extend my, and Irene’s, love and best wishes to you as we journey through this Holy Week to Easter Sunday. This is always a difficult but encouraging journey when we remember, and celebrate, our Saviour’s journey into Jerusalem which resulted in His glorious ascension on Easter Sunday – a day which I hope you will be able to celebrate with your families and friends.
We continue to witness conflict, tragedies and distress internationally and at home, and at times there does not appear to be any relief on the horizon. The Christian belief that good will prevail gives us all hope for the future, and as Christian Knights we have a responsibility to reflect this belief in all of our actions. I am confident that you will all do our Order proud in the way that you will support your local communities and your neighbours who are facing difficulties at this time.
Irene and I wish you and your families a very happy and peaceful Easter.
God Bless. Yours in Faith, Unity and Zeal,
John – R.Ill.Kt. Dr. John Anthony Elmore, Intendant-General, Division of East Anglia

Gorleston Young Carers Charity

PRESENTATION TO GREAT YARMOUTH AND GORLESTON YOUNG CARERS – 20th February 2025
It was a real pleasure, and a very humbling experience to visit a young carers session of the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Young Carers charity on the 20th February 2025. Our cheque for £5000 was presented to Ms. Terry Macrowan, Manager and Founder of the Charity by Wy.Kt. Duane Yallop and Mrs. Mandy Yallop on behalf of the Division of East Anglia. Wy.Kt. Duane and Mandy led the fund raising throughout the Division culminating in a skydive by Mandy. We are all very grateful to them, and the very generous donation of £3000 from the Grand Sovereign’s Care for Children’s Fund. This a charity providing much needed support to these very special young carers.
The Intendant General, R.Ill.Kt.Dr. John Elmore was present also accompanied by Mrs. Elmore, the Divisional Eusebius, Ill.Kt. Adrian Jarvis, and the Divisional Marshal, Ill.Kt. John Harvey.
To all Members
of the Division of East Anglia Suffolk
12th February 2025
Dear Worthy Knights,
Divisional Update
As promised, a letter to you all following the annual meeting of the Divisional Executive. I trust that this letter finds you well. As usual, the meeting was a very constructive and positive one, and I am very pleased to be able to advise you of the main decisions and outcomes.
Annual Meeting of Divisional Grand Conclave.
This very important meeting for our Division will be held, as usual, on the second Saturday in July – 12th July 2025 at Bury St. Edmunds commencing at 1100. This meeting is a very special meeting for the Division and is for all members of the Division. Please do your best to attend to support the Wy. Kts. receiving Divisional appointments and promotions. It is always a very enjoyable occasion.
Divisional Church Service
We will not be holding a Church service in 2025. I appreciate that many of you will be disappointed with this decision, but I am very pleased to be able to advise you that it is our intention to make the Church service an annual event in the future. We will liaise with the clergy at Wymondham Abbey with the intention to hold this service on the same Sunday each year, e.g. the first Sunday in May. This will enable us all to put the date in our diaries and should encourage a good attendance. It will also greatly assist in the planning of the buffet refreshments after the service.
Divisional Communications
It is very important that our on-line communications and presentations are professional, consistent and current. We have therefore formed a task group to oversee our website and social media content. I am confident that the Division will benefit from this initiative, and your feedback on the presentation and content will always be welcome.
RCC Introduction and Awareness.
Last year I was asked if I would present a paper on our Order to a Rose Croix Chapter in Suffolk. Sadly, this did not happen – perhaps I will get an opportunity on a future occasion. The paper that I prepared is attached for your interest, and possible use if you get the opportunity to share the details of our special Order to our Craft brethren and Chapter companions. There are some personal comments which I am sure that you will wish to ignore, but please use the information contained in the paper as you consider appropriate to encourage more Christian brethren to join our Order and benefit from the Masonic enlightenment that it provides.
Finally Wy.Kts., this year we have suffered the loss of our Past Intendant-General, R.Ill.Kt. David Edward Henry Adams, KCC. R.Ill.Kt. David will be sorely missed. I pray that he will rest in peace and rise in glory.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
God Bless.
Yours in Faith, Unity and Zeal, JOHN
RITUAL AMMENDMENTS
Updated 11 Feb. 2025
Dear Worthy Knights,
I trust that this note finds you and your families safe and well, and that you are all looking forward to a very special Christmas with your families and your Church and local communities. Unfortunately, we have lost a number of our Wy. Kts. this year to the Grand Conclave above, including R.Ill.Kt. David Adams, KCC, my predecessor as Intendant-General. May they rest in peace and in light eternal. We will miss them all, and our Division will be poorer without them, but I am sure that they would wish us to continue the work of this special Christian Masonic Order and commemorate their dedication and their memory. Please keep them all, and their families, in your prayers.
The Divisional Executive team will be meeting in January 2025 to plan for the year ahead. Currently, it is my intention to hold our Divisional meeting on our usual day of the second Saturday in July, and we will proceed to plan on this basis. I will, of course, advise you after the Executive meeting of all of thedecisions taken.
As we enter this very special Christmas season to celebrate the birth of our Saviour and Redeemer I would like to take this opportunity to pass on Irene’s and my best wishes to you all. We wish you a very happy and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year.
Thank you for your continuous and excellent support to me, our Division and our Order. Please ensure that you and your families continue to keep safe and well, and I am looking forward to being with you all in the New Year to enjoy together our special Christian Masonic Order.
God Bless.
Yours in Faith, Unity.
